2007 BOSTON -- The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for all of Massachusetts Sunday, as a mix of snow and ice threatened to make travel hazardous across much of southern New England. Forecast Maps "It will start as all snow spreading from west to east. As the atmosphere warms, the snow will turn to sleet, freezing rain and eventually all rain," forecast Storm Team 5 meteorologist Mike Wankum.The heaviest of the mix will occur between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., however freezing drizzle will continue throughout the morning commute."Snow totals will generally be light, but ice could make the morning commute tricky," predicted Wankum.Snowfall accumulations were expected to be about 1 to 3 inches in Boston. Along Route 2, 2 to 4 inches were predicted.In southern New Hampshire, 3 to 5 inches of snow were likely.Monday morning's commute could be slick and icy, and some school cancellations or delays are possible because of the ice.
