Send J.C. An E-MailJ.C. Monahan is the meteorologist for the weekday editions of the EyeOpener and Midday newscasts. She joined WCVB-TV as a staff meteorologist in September 2001.
Previously, Monahan served as the weekend meteorologist for New England Cable News, a regional cable network. Prior to joining NECN, Monahan worked as the weekend forecaster and entertainment reporter for WPXT-TV in Portland, ME.
She was the News Director for WZON-AM in Bangor, Maine, where she earned awards from the Associated Press and Maine Association of Broadcasters for best radio newscast and best series reporting.
Monahan has a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Maine and graduated from Mississippi State University's broadcast meteorology program. She is a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. In 2004, Monahan was awarded the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval in recognition of her professionalism in weather forecasting and reporting.
