If you shop online, paying for the items you buy is now a lot easier.

PayPal.com, eBay's online money transfer service, launched a system that will let you use your cell phone as a debit card. Using PayPal Mobile's Tex, users can send money, or purchase items by sending product codes via text message.

To use the system, customers must first activate their telephones by logging into their PayPal accounts ands registering their cell number. Users can make payments by sending a text message to PayPal.

Companies such as 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and the NBA Store are offering items for purchase with PayPal's Mobile Text.

The system also lets users give to charities such as Amnesty International, Starlight Starbright and UNICEF.
