BOSTON -- Some local police departments are urging parents to protect their kids this Halloween by logging onto a new Web site.

The site, www.mapsexoffenders.com, was created by a Utah company. It maps the residential locations of high-risk sex offenders in 38 states, including Massachusetts.

Creators of the site said it's a great safety tool for parents, to ensure that their trick-or-treaters avoid the doors of sex offenders.
