Google Maps Launching Street Views Of Boston

New Service Lets Surfers Get Up Close And Personal

Tuesday morning Google is adding Boston to its street view feature.

It offers Web surfers 360-degree, street level images that are so clear people walking by can actually be identified.

The Boston Globe reported that the images were put together over the past year from cars and vans equipped with cameras.

When the service was launched last May in San Francisco there were protests claiming that the photos were so clear it was an invasion of privacy.

Google said they take privacy issues very seriously and that all of the images are from public areas.
