Steve Lacy

Steve Lacy joined WCVB-TV Channel 5 in July 2006 as co-anchor of the weekend EyeOpener, Sunday 10 a.m. newscasts and general assignment reporter. Lacy's appointment to the anchor desk marks a return to the station as he launched his broadcast career as a production coordinator on Chronicle, WCVB's award-winning nightly newsmagazine.

Prior to joining WCVB, Lacy was solo-anchor of the morning and noon newscasts at WWLP-TV in Springfield, MA. While at the NBC affiliate, Lacy traveled to the storm-ravaged Gulf Coast region in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He traveled throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama with members of the 439th airlift wing. Lacy interviewed evacuees as they were transported to shelter and shared stories of local Red Cross volunteers aiding in relief efforts.

Previously, Lacy was a reporter/anchor/producer at WVII-TV in Bangor, ME. While at the ABC affiliate, he was a co-anchor of the 6 p.m. newscast and solo-anchor of the 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. broadcasts.

A Massachusetts native, Lacy is a graduate of Boston College's Carroll School of Management. He resides in the Boston area.
