Shayna Seymour is a reporter, producer and, at times, anchor for WCVB-TV’s award-winning nightly newsmagazine, Chronicle. Since her arrival at the station in April 2006, Seymour has been nominated for two local Emmy Awards. In addition to her work for Chronicle, Seymour can been seen every Thursday evening during her ”What’s Hot” segment on NewsCenter 5 and can be heard every Friday morning on Lowell’s 980 WCAP-AM.

Prior to joining WCVB, Seymour was anchor of the morning and noon newscasts as well as general assignment reporter at WGGB-TV, Springfield. While at the ABC affiliate, Seymour honed her reportorial skills covering breaking news events, education and health issues. Seymour produced and reported an on-going series of interviews with renowned comedian and philanthropist Bill Cosby that exposed his efforts to educate and make a difference in the lives of minority students, including four Springfield area youths whose college education is funded by Cosby. She also co-hosted the MDA Jerry Lewis Telethon for WGGB.

Seymour launched her broadcast career at WSTM-TV, Syracuse. Prior to that, she was employed in the corporate world.

A native of Amherst, Massachusetts, Seymour received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Spelman College and Master of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University. Seymour has been recognized as a “stylish Bostonian” by both the Boston Globe and the Improper Bostonian even gracing the cover of latter. She currently resides outside of Boston with her husband and infant son.
