3/4/06: Indoor Herb Gardens

This week we have some fun with some plants that look great and you can use while cooking.

Herb gardens indoors can be moved outside when the weather warms. Just remember to bring them back inside before a hard frost. I like to have my herb garden right in the kitchen in a sunny spot. You also want to be sure to water each herb properly. For example, rosemary needs less water than say basil. So, it's not a good idea to plant all the herbs in one big pot.

Unfortunately, if you do not have a sunny window growing herbs inside will be very difficult. Herbs need sunshine to grow. If you are willing to spend a bit a a grow light you can use those to grow herbs. They do work. I have some links here for you.
