Download An Application Nightly news magazine internship duties include: Assisting field producers with a variety of tasks. Making phone calls to persons for prospective shows, finding footage from old shows and news tapes, researching information via the Internet and phone calls. Answering viewer calls concerning requests for information on previous shows, information on upcoming shows and how to obtain copies of shows that were aired. Logging footage of shoots and nightly shows. Logging shoots entails viewing the tape and typing each word and various actions. Logging each show includes describing main subjects, people, and places. Attending field shoots with producers for upcoming shows. Joining editing sessions with producers and/or talent. Staying for live Chronicle broadcasts at 7:30 p.m. Full-time interns work a 40-hour work week. Part-time interns work a minimum of two days a week.
