Work schedule is from 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at least three days out of seven.

Intern's duties:

  • Checks sports and news wires for any breaking sports news.
  • Compiles and submits complete list of chyron material to be used in the show.
  • Gathers all professional and collegiate scores.
  • Logs all sports events recorded by the Sports staff.
  • Distributes completed script material.
  • Answering phone calls, taking messages and making calls for the producers and talent.
  • May accompany reporters on location shoots.
  • Should have a working knowledge of the local sports scene (i.e., aware of managers, head coaches and star players of the four local professional teams) and be conversant on major national sports stories and events. Applicant should be a person with a daily interest in sports and who also regularly reads the Boston Globe and Boston Herald sports pages.

    Since these are learning/teaching situations, all producers are required to evaluate their students if schools request it. Evaluation forms should be sent to Linda Walsh, or to the direct supervisor.
