The Healthbeat Report intern will assist in the production of medical report stories. The intern will respond to viewer mail and phone calls, set up remote shoots and interviews. Other responsibilities include locating resources, contacts and research materials. The intern may also accompany producers on location shoots to learn about the conceptualization of a piece and participate in viewing the edit sessions with producers.

The individual considered for this position should have an interest in medical and health issues and work well under deadline pressure. Familiarity with newsroom operations or television producing would be helpful but not necessary.

Willingness to learn and adapt quickly and retain professionalism are a must. This internship is a rewarding and challenging position.
