The series, with support from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, debuts on Channel 5 Thursday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m.

The first program, “Coping,” explores the personal experiences of New Englanders finding new directions in the midst of this unprecedented economic crisis.

Better Living is produced by Liz Walker’s new production company, The Walker Group.

“Coping” is the first of four 30-minute healthy living specials that will air on WCVB each quarter.

“In these uncertain times, we think people are not just looking at economics. They are also looking for better ways to live their lives," Walker said.

“Throughout the series the hope is to bring our viewers meaningful and thoughtful information about improving our physical, spiritual and collective wellbeing,” she added.

“We are proud and thrilled to broadcast "Better Living with Liz Walker" on WCVB. Having long admired the quality of Liz’s work as an extraordinary journalist, it is exciting that Channel 5 can offer viewers her program, which will undoubtedly enhance the quality of their lives.”

Fine added, “We are also very appreciative to our partners at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts for underwriting this endeavor and for continuing their support of valuable local programming,” WCVB President and General Manager Bill Fine said.
