The Digital Broadcast Transition and ComcastTelevisions connected to Comcast will not be affected by the digital broadcast transition of June 12, 2009 or by the Boston broadcasters' "soft shut-down" on December 9, 2008. The December test and the February transition each will only affect broadcast TV transmissions, not cable TV. Comcast customers will continue to receive their cable signals without interruption. To learn more about Comcast and the digital broadcast transition, call 1-800-COMCAST or go to www.comcast.com/dtv.Verizon
In general, Verizon's FiOS TV customers will NOT be impacted by the broadcast DTV transition. FiOS TV service will not be affected by the broadcast DTV transition. If FiOS TV customers have analog TVs that are not connected to FiOS TV and receive broadcast television "off-the-air," those customers will be required to obtain a digital-to-analog converter for those televisions through retail outlets participating in the NTIA's converter box program. Since FiOS TV will not be affected by the broadcast DTV transition, these customers can also connect those televisions to the FiOS network instead by visiting https://www22.verizon.com/myverizon/ or contacting Verizon at 866-553-1555 to discuss Verizon's various equipment options.RCN
If all of your television sets are connected to the RCN cable service, you don't need to do anything. We will take care of sending the signals to you in a way that all televisions can receive them. If you are already enjoying our digital and/or High Definition service, you already have the set-top box and/or CableCard that you need. Depending upon whether your market has converted to an RCN all-digital platform, you may or may not need a set-top box to view the basic tier, and RCN will be happy to provide you with what you need.
