WCVB-TV/DT Channel 5, the Boston Harbor Hotel and Boston Celtics are teaming up for the second annual charity fashion show, Kelley for Ellie, on March 27 at 7 p.m. in the Wharf Room at the hotel.

The female anchors and reporters of WCVB will walk the runway along with Celtics wives to raise funds and awareness for the Ellie Fund, a Needham-based breast cancer organization. Fashions will be provided by Ports & Company, a Cohasset boutique.

Kelley for Ellie was created in 2007 by the friends, family and colleagues of WCVB reporter Kelley Tuthill following her diagnosis with stage II breast cancer as a way to pay tribute to Tuthill for her dedication to help others battling the disease. Tuthill has worked tirelessly on behalf of breast cancer causes. She made the courageous decision to turn the camera on herself and chronicled her journey in an award-winning series of video diaries that aired on Channel 5 and TheBostonChannel.com.

Viewers were able to see what life with cancer was like in real time. Tuthill’s efforts have resulted in other women heeding her call to action for early detection and sharing their stories of survival.

The Ellie Fund aids families in the fight against breast cancer with their "Care for the Caregiver" program. The program supports women and their families who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer by helping them with their daily activities and enabling them to channel their energy into battling the disease. Because of the success of last year’s event, the Ellie Fund now helps five times the number of women it supported prior to Kelley for Ellie.
