BOSTON -- The National Headliner Awards announced WCVB-TV/DT Channel 5 won two awards in the prestigious competition.WCVB was recognized with a second place award for coverage of the "Everett Tanker Explosion" in the Coverage of a Live Breaking News Event category and third place in the Newscast division for "NewsCenter 5 at 11 p.m.""Both awards recognize the dedication of our entire news department. I'm proud of every person who works tirelessly to deliver the very best local, live coverage of breaking news events," WCVB President and General Manager Bill Fine said.WCVB was the only station in the Boston market to be honored with National Headliner Awards. The awards will be presented at a banquet in Atlantic City in the spring.
