BOSTON -- The National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association have named WCVB-TVDT Channel 5's Mike Lynch Massachusetts Sportscaster of the Year.Lynch will be honored along with national winners Jim Nantz, of CBS Sports, and Bob Ryan, of The Boston Globe, other state winners, including Dan Shaughnessy, of The Boston Globe and Hall of Fame inductees at a ceremony in North Carolina in early May.Lynch was voted the prestigious honor by fellow sportscasters and sportswriters. He has won the award 11 times previously in his career.Lynch has been principal sports anchor at WCVB since September 1985. He is the host of "Patriots All Access," a behind-the-scenes look at the NFL team during the season. Lynch also founded "High Five," a weekly NewsCenter 5 report highlighting local student athletes.
