If you're a Boston sports fan, you haven't been spoiled like this since 1986. The Patriots, undefeated and looking invincible, sparking jinx-creating predictions of a perfect season. The Red Sox, hobbling to the regular season finish line, but getting ready to match 2004. The Celtics have loaded up with their most exciting team since the Bird era. Boston College has their best start and a Heisman candidate for the first time since the Flutie years and the New England Revolution, firmly in the hunt for an MLS championship. Maybe even the Bruins will find a way to nudge themselves onto this list.

The players are performing and the owners are stepping up, in civic contributions and economic development. The Kraft family's Patriot Place looks to turn Foxboro into a true destination location, while the Sox are buying up and renovating Kenmore Square.

All this success does come at a price, especially with the Red Sox. Sox tickets escape the average fan as they lead the world in ticket prices. Sox fans escape Boston and have discovered an all-expenses-paid weekend in Tampa or Baltimore costs the same as tickets alone in Fenway and you get a mini-vacation and box seats to boot.

The Sox have Red Sox Nation and the Patriots are truly the one NFL franchise other teams can only dream of matching their success, on the field and off.

So we are spoiled and as we approach this incredibly exciting period for Boston sports fans, remember the words of wisdom spoken by legendary coach Vince Lombardi: Act like you've been there before.
