December 30th-Houseplant Pests

This time of the year your indoor houseplants are a bit stressed. They have very little light, the air is dry and they have not been fed in a few months (I take a break from feeding Nov-Feb). When plants, like people get stressed they get sick. In a plants case it gets bugs.

Create a humidity tray for your plants that like moisture. This will help a lot. Place the plant in a bowl with stones to raise the bottom of the plant. Now put water in the bowl. DO NOT LET WATER TOUCH THE BOTTOM OF THE POT, it will wick up and make the plant too moist. You want to have the plant above the water that is what the stones are for.

As the water evaporates, it creates a better environment for the plants.

Happy New Year!
