November 5th-Getting Ready For Winter

Today I am giving you some tips on what you should be doing in the garden this time of year. First, with milder air on the way be sure to NOT mulch beds yet. You want to wait till the ground is frozen and that may not happen till after Thanksgiving. You can cut back Roses a bit now, but wait till colder weather to put them to bed. You can divide perenials still if you want. Just break apart the root and replant.

Clean your tools, mow the lawn till it is totally dormant. Clean up leaves around plants as well. THe more you begin to do now, the less you will have next March and April.
