San Francisco Giants (28-27) At New York Mets (33-21), 1:10 P.m.

(Sports Network) - Matt Morris hopes to stop a personal two-game losing streak this afternoon when the San Francisco Giants play the rubber match of their three-game set with the New York Mets at Shea Stadium.

Morris has just one win in his last nine starts and is a disappointing 3-6 on the season with a 5.40 earned run average. Morris was tagged with the loss in his last start on Monday against the Florida Marlins, as he allowed three runs on six hits in six innings.

The 31-year-old right-hander received a no-decision against the Mets earlier in the year and is 6-3 lifetime against them with a 3.24 ERA in 14 games, 12 of which have been starts.

Morris, though, has been ill the past few days and could be replaced today by Brad Hennessey.

The Mets will pin their hopes on veteran right-hander Steve Trachsel, who is winless in his last six starts and has just one victory in his last eight outings. On Monday against Arizona Trachsel did not receive a decision, as he allowed four runs and seven hits in six innings of his team's 8-7 win.

Trachsel defeated the Giants earlier in the year and is 10-4 in his career against them with a 2.52 ERA in 20 games.

On Saturday these teams split a doubleheader with the Giants winning the opener, 6-4, and the Mets taking the nightcap, 3-2, in 11 innings.

Barry Bonds, playing his first game in New York since passing Babe Ruth on the all-time home run list, went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored to help the Giants to the win in the opener. He did not start the second game, but did ground out as a pinch-hitter in the 10th inning.

New York, which has won five of its last seven games, won the second game when Lastings Milledge scored on Chris Woodward's sacrifice fly. The Mets now lead the National League East by 5 1/2 games over the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Mets took two of three from the Giants earlier in the season and owns a 14-9 advantage in the series since the start of the 2003 campaign, including an 8-2 advantage in Flushing in that time.
