Panthers 27, Patriots 17
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Carolina Panthers were able to bounce back from last week's loss to New Orleans by knocking off the two-time defending Super Bowl champs.

The Panthers won a rematch of Super Bowl XXXVIII, beating the Patriots 27-17 on three touchdown runs by Stephen Davis. Davis finished with 77 rushing yards, including a trio of one-yard touchdowns that allowed the Panthers to even their record at 1-1.

Mike Vrabel returned an interception 24 yards for a touchdown that got the 1-1 Patriots within 20-17. But Davis' third score gave Carolina a 10-point cushion.

Eagles 42, 49ers 3
PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia is 1-1 after rolling to a 42-3 rout of San Francisco.

Donovan McNabb threw four of his five touchdown passes in the game's first 19 minutes, including two to Terrell Owens. Owens finished with five receptions for 143 yards, all during that 19-minute span.

K.J. Smith grabbed a career-high nine passes for 119 yards and a touchdown as the Eagles dropped the 49ers to 1-1.

Chiefs 23, Raiders 17
OAKLAND -- Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson each rushed for a touchdown to lead the Kansas City Chiefs over the Oakland Raiders, 23-17, spoiling Randy Moss' home debut at McAfee Stadium.

Holmes and Johnson also combined for 116 yards on the ground and Trent Green finished 18-of-28 for 237 yards for the Chiefs (2-0), who have won their last five games against Oakland.

Samie Parker hauled in three passes for 86 yards while Eddie Kennison added four catches for 52 yards in the win.

Moss had a spectacular game in the loss as he caught five passes for 127 yards, which included a 64-yard touchdown, for the Raiders (0-2), who had won their previous seven home openers.

Bengals 37, Vikings 8
CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati put together an easy victory, grabbing a 27-0 halftime lead in a 37-8 rout of Minnesota.

Carson Palmer threw a 70-yard scoring bomb to Chad Johnson on the game's second play from scrimmage. Johnson topped 100 yards receiving by halftime and finished with seven receptions for 139 yards.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh had two touchdowns for the Bengals, who dropped the Vikings to 0-2.

Colts 10, Jaguars 3
INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts were shut out for three quarters before rallying for a 10-3 win over Jacksonville.

Ran Carthon scored on a six-yard run before Mike Vanderjagt added a field goal.

The 2-0 Colts struggled offensively despite Edgerrin James, who carried 27 times for 128 yards. Peyton Manning completed just 13 of 28 passes for 122 yards and he threw one interception.

Byron Leftwich threw 16 completions in 28 attempts for 198 yards for the 1-1 Jaguars.

Steelers 27, Texans 7
HOUSTON -- Willie Parker, Ben Roethlisberger and Hines Ward led Pittsburgh's offense in a 27-7 win at Houston.

Parker had 111 yards on 25 carries, including a 10-yard scamper for the Steelers' final touchdown.

Roethlisberger threw a pair of touchdown passes to Ward while the 2-0 Steelers were scoring on their first four possessions.

Domanick Davis ran just four times for 33 yards for the 0-2 Texans.

Seahawks 21, Falcons 18
SEATTLE -- Shaun Alexander carried 28 times for 144 yards and a touchdown as Seattle edged Atlanta 21-18, leaving both teams 1-1.

Matt Hasselbeck threw for 281 yards without an interception, hitting Joe Jurevicius and Jerramy Stevens for second-quarter touchdowns. The Seahawks did all their scoring in the last half of the second quarter.

Michael Vick was held to 123 passing yards and 43 rushing yards.

Rams 17, Cardinals 12
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Stephen Jackson and Torry Holt scored touchdowns as the St. Louis Rams knocked off Arizona 17-12.

Jackson finished with 93 rushing yards on 18 carries while Marc Bulger completed 18 passes in 29 attempts for 216 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals had first-and-goal at the Rams' five-yard line in the final minute before Kurt Warner was sacked for a five-yard loss with seven seconds left. The rest of the game clock was run off after Leonard Davis was flagged for a false start.

Broncos 20, Chargers 17
DENVER -- Jason Elam hit a 41-yard field goal with five seconds left to push Denver past San Diego 20-17.

The Broncos trailed 14-3 until Champ Bailey returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown eleven seconds into the second half.

Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson became the first player in NFL history to rush for a touchdown in 14 straight games, breaking the mark with a pair of scoring runs in the second quarter. But San Diego fell to 0-2 while Denver evened its record at 1-1.

Jets 17, Dolphins 7
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Chad Pennington threw for 190 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions as the New York Jets bounced back from last week's 27-7 loss to beat Miami 17-7.

The Jets allowed just 66 rushing yards after giving up over 200 against the Chiefs. Curtis Martin had 72 yards on 31 carries as the Jets evened their mark at 1-1. The Dolphins also are 1-1.

Titans 25, Ravens 10
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Baltimore is 0-2 after the Tennessee defense shut down the Ravens 25-10.

The Titans held the Ravens to 182 yards of total offense, including just 14 on the ground. Tennessee finished with six sacks and two turnovers, including Brad Kassell's 21-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Steve McNair completed 19 of 36 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown for the 1-1 Titans.

Buccaneers 19, Bills 3
TAMPA BAY, Fla. -- Rookie Cadillac Williams ran for 128 yards and a touchdown to lead Tampa Bay's 19-3 win over Buffalo.

Williams scored on a three-yard run after sitting out two series with a sprained left foot. He also had runs of 31, 23 and 19 yards as the Buccaneers improved to 2-0 while dropping the Bills to 1-1.

Mike Alstott scored on a one-yard run for the Bucs, who won their home opener for the first time in four tries under coach Jon Gruden.

Browns 26, Packers 24
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Trent Dilfer passed for 336 yards and three touchdowns as Cleveland won at Green Bay 26-24.

Dilfer hooked up with Steve Heiden for a pair of touchdowns, including a 62-yard play that put the Browns ahead 26-17 with less than two minutes to play.

It's the first win for the Browns under head coach Romeo Crennel.

Brett Favre threw for three touchdowns but was intercepted twice as the Packers dropped to 0-2.

Bears 38, Lions 6
CHICAGO -- Thomas Jones ran for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Chicago Bears ripped the Detroit Lions 38-6.

Kyle Orton completed 14 of 21 passes for 150 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

Detroit's Joey Harrington threw a career-high five interceptions, with Nate Vasher picking him off twice and Mike Brown returning one 41 yards for a touchdown.

Both teams are 1-1.
