BOSTON -- True to their nickname, the Fenway faithful are not giving up hope, even though it seemed inevitable Sunday night that the New York Yankees will prevail at some point in the American League Championship Series and move on to the World Series.
"I am hopeful," said another fan. "I'm not throwing the towel in yet."Fans hope the ALCS is not a clean sweep for the Yankees."I think the Red Sox are not going to get swept, so, I am looking for them to win and I'm very hopeful they will come out big tonight," said another fan.By 10 p.m. Saturday night, disappointed fans streamed out of Fenway Park as the Yankees dominated the Sox in Game 3, but on Sunday, a close game kept them in their seats."We still believe," said another fan.But if the Red Sox don't come through this year, fans say they are keeping their options open."If they lose, we do, of course, have the option of rooting for someone else," said another fan.But fans say they aren't quite ready to say they will cheer on the Yankees in the World Series.
