NCAA Game Summary - Boston University Vs. Kansas State

(Sports Network) - Rodney McGruder scored 20 points to pace five Kansas State players in double figures as the Wildcats held off the stubborn Boston University Terriers 80-70 in the opening round of the Puerto Rican Tip- Off.

Jacob Pullen scored 14 points for the Wildcats (3-0) and contributed five assists. Curtis Kelly scored 12 points and added nine rebounds. Jamar Samuels provided 11 points and five rebounds, while Jordan Henriquez added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Tyler Morris scored 21 points for the Terriers (0-3), while John Holland added 20 points. Carlos Strong contributed 11 points and eight rebounds, while Jake O'Brien chipped in 10 points.

The Wildcats shot 50.0 percent from the field in the opening half and went into the break with a 39-35 advantage.

Kansas State held Boston to a meager 34.5 percent shooting effort from the floor in the second stanza and went on to win by a 10-point margin.

The game featured eight lead changes and 11 ties before Kansas State built a 13-point lead midway through the second half.

The win sends Kansas State into second round where the Wildcats will face Mississippi.
