Philadelphia, PA -- (Sports Network) - Phil Mickelson's victory at the HSBC Champions on Sunday helped him trim Tiger Woods' lead at the top of the world rankings.

Mickelson, who played in the final group with Woods in Shanghai, moved within 6.48 average points of the top-ranked player -- an improvement of 1.25 points.

Woods stands at 15.70 points and No. 2 Mickelson is at 9.22.

Steve Stricker held on to the No. 3 ranking and Lee Westwood moved up one spot to fourth, kicking Paul Casey to fifth. Padraig Harrington, Henrik Stenson, Kenny Perry, Sergio Garcia, Jim Furyk and Martin Kaymer remained sixth through 11th.

Geoff Ogilvy and Ian Poulter picked up two spots, moving to 12th and 13th respectively. Stewart Cink and Sean O'Hair both dropped two places to 14th and 15th.

Ernie Els finished second behind Mickelson and moved up eight places to 16th, while Rory McIlroy took fourth place and inched up one spot to 17th. Lucas Glover and Ross Fisher dipped two places to 18th and 19th and Retief Goosen was up one to 20th.

Vijay Singh and Camilo Villegas both dropped out of the top 20 this week.
