Knowles And Groenefeld Take Mixed Doubles Title At Wimbledon

(Sports Network) - Ninth seeds Mark Knowles and Anna-Lena Groenefeld upset top seeds Leander Paes and Cara Black in the mixed doubles final on Sunday at Wimbledon.

Knowles of the Bahamas and Groenefeld of Germany surprised Paes of India and Black of Zimbabwe with a 7-5, 6-3 victory on Centre Court at the All England Club.

Trailing 5-2 in the first set, Knowles and Groenefeld ripped off eight straight games to take control of the match.

Knowles and Groenefeld had a total of 21 winners in the match, compared to 15 for Paes and Black.

This was Knowles' fourth major title of his career -- first at Wimbledon. Groenefeld captured her first major trophy with the victory.
