Bengals Cut Both Punters To Make Room For Huber

POSTED: 8:09 pm EDT April 28, 2009

(Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Bengals cut ties with both Kyle Larson and Ryan Plackemeier on Tuesday after drafting punter Kevin Huber in the fifth round of this past weekend's NFL Draft.

Larson just completed his fifth season with the Bengals and had played in every game for the club since signing as a college free agent in 2004.

Larson averaged 39.5 yards per punt last season and had a 34.1 net punting average.

Plackemeier, who played last season for Seattle and Washington, was acquired by the Bengals on waivers February 13.

Huber, a Cincinnati native, was drafted out of the University of Cincinnati where he led the nation in net punting as both a junior and senior.
