POSTED: 10:26 pm EST March 6, 2009

(Sports Network) - Garrett Leffelman's three-pointer at the buzzer lifted the Brown Bears to a 61-59 win over the Harvard Crimson in an Ivy League thriller at the Pizzitola Center.

Matt Mullery was virtually unstoppable in the paint for Brown (8-19, 2-11 Ivy), piling up a season-high 21 points and grabbing a career-best 20 rebounds. Adrian Williams chipped in with 10 points, as the Bears snap a four- game slide.

Earlier this season, Harvard (13-14, 5-8) beat Brown on a last-second shot. Drew Housman paced the Crimson with 12 points, while Andrew Pusar scored 11, and Keith Wright and Jeremy Lin finished with 10 apiece.

Brown shot just 33.3 percent from the floor in the first half and trailed by as many as 11 with 7:45 remaining until halftime. But the Bears kept trading buckets, eventually cutting the deficit to 35-28 at the break.

The Bears seized the momentum with a 52-percent shooting effort in the second stanza, pushing their lead to as many as seven with 11:18 to play. But Harvard battled right back, eventually taking a six-point lead on a three-pointer by Oliver McNally with 3:05 to play. However, the Crimson were held off the scoreboard the rest of the way.

Mullery is the first Brown player to pull down 20 boards in a game since Stark Langs accomplished the feat against Dartmouth back in 1984.
