Oregon Suspends RB Blount Indefinitely

POSTED: 2:09 pm EST February 11, 2009

(Sports Network) - Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount and reserve linebacker Terrance Pritchett have been suspended indefinitely by the school.

Head coach Mike Bellotti stated on Tuesday that the two were suspended for a "failure to fulfill team obligations" and will be barred from all football- related activities until further notice.

Blount, a junior-college transfer, played his first season with the Ducks last year and rushed for 1,002 yards and a single-season school record 17 touchdowns.

Pritchett played in three games last season prior to a two-game suspension. After withdrawing from the school for the remainder of the fall term, the redshirt freshman returned to the school last month.
