Dover, DE -- (Sports Network) - Breeders Crown champion Somebeachsomewhere has been entered into Dover Downs' $249,113 Matron Stakes for Monday, December 15. Two $41,519 elimination races have been carded for Monday, December 8.Somebeachsomewhere has drawn into the second elimination heat, race 12, and will start from post four in the six horse field. Paul MacDonnell will again be in the bike for co-owner and trainer Brent MacGrath. "That will definitely be his last start," MacGrath said. "We're not going to a junior invitational anywhere after that. It's hard to shut a horse like him down when there's a major race in a week's time. It's as simple as that." The first elimination will go off as race 10 and also has a six horse field. The top money earner in the field with $666,502 is Santana Blue Chip, who will start from the inside post with driver Jody Jamieson. This year Somebeachsomewhere has earned a single-season-record $2.44 million with 14 wins in 15 starts. In his two year career, the colt has won 20 of 21 starts for $3.22 million. His lone career loss was to Art Official by a neck in this year's Meadowlands Pace. "He's as good now as hes ever been in his life," MacGrath noted. "He's strong, he's healthy, he's happy, he likes racing, he likes it here in the U.S., so, hey, let's give him a couple more (races). The people want to see him, I'm sure. It's too good to pass up." Somebeachsomewhere, the top candidate for 2008 Horse of the Year, won the $500,000 Breeders Crown by 1 3/4 lengths over Shadow Play in 1:48 3/5, it was the fastest in the race's history. "I thought his performance was awesome," said MacGrath. "He was off the gate real strong. I think those guys maybe had visions of parking him, and that didn't happen."
