Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said he is “doing well” in his recovery from a season-ending knee injury.

Brady and his girlfriend Gisele Bundchen made an unpublicized appearance Wednesday, serving dinner at the annual Goodwill Thanksgiving dinner in Roxbury.

“I am doing well. It’s good to be out here today and serve all these wonderful people and sign some autographs.” Brady told NewsCenter 5’s Jack Harper.

Brady appeared to be walking easily, as he moved through the crowd that gathered around him. However, he did favor his knee as he walked up toward the podium.

“I am thankful to be here in Boston. It’s my favorite holiday,” he said.

Brady and Bundchen served dinner to many of the individuals who receive job training and career opportunities through Goodwill's initiatives.

“I feel it’s more of a gift to us to be able to serve them. I am happy to be here,” Bundchen said.

Brady tore the anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his knee Sept. 7 in the team’s opening game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was hit by Kansas City safety Bernard Pollard.

Brady suffered a post-operative staph infection after surgery in California last month after a patella tendon graft was inserted to replace his torn ACL during surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Oct. 6. Several surgical procedures were required to clean out the wound.

He began rehabilitation at the Patriots training facility at Gillette Stadium earlier this month.
