New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will have surgery in Los Angeles to repair his injured knee, the Boston Globe reported Tuesday.

Dr. Neal ElAttrache, of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, will perform the surgery, but a date has not been announced, the newspaper reported.

Brady, 31, suffered a torn ACL and MCL in the Pat's game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 7. Brady was placed on injured reserve and will miss the remainder of the season.

The team's star was hit hard in the first quarter of the game when he was caught in the backfield by Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard. NFL officials reviewed the play and determined that it was legal.

Brady has won 78 percent of all his starts, the best record of any quarterback in the Super Bowl era. If his 14-3 playoff record is added in, his winning percentage jumps to 79 percent.
