Doc Rivers’ Gatorade-soaked shirt and the accompanying Gatorade bucket from Game 6 of the NBA Finals were sold Tuesday for $55,000 through an online auction.

The shirt, which was autographed by Celtics head coach Rivers and NBA finals MVP Paul Pierce, was the subject of intense bidding interest, including a bid from former Patriots head coach Bill Parcells, who is now with the Miami Dolphins.

Parcells, who has an endorsement deal with Gatorade, placed a bid of $20,000 on behalf of the company.

The items were won by an anonymous bidder who pledged $35,000. The additional money came from a $10,000 donation from Gatorade and a second anonymous donor, who also pledged $10,000.

The proceeds will go to benefit the Celtics’ charity, The Shamrock Foundation.

“We are grateful for the continued support from our fans throughout the Commonwealth," said Steve Pagliuca, Managing Partner of the Boston Celtics.

Pagliuca said he would make an additional, personal donation of $35,000 if the winning bidder will lend the shirt to the Celtics during the season so it can be displayed.
