The 17th championship banner will soon hang from the rafters in the TD Banknorth Garden.

Fans will have an opportunity to greet the Celtics during a parade on Thursday. The city is expected to announce Wednesday that the parade will start at the Garden.

The team will travel down Causeway Street in duck boats. They'll make their way to Tremont Street, past the Boston Common, onto Boylston Street and ending at Copley Square.

Before the game, Boston police took extra security measures and increased patrols to ensure a safe and fun event for fans.

Club and bar owners were also asked to either turn televisions away from windows or cover windows so that they are not visible from the street. All outdoor patios closed at that start of the third quarter.
