Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and pop star Jessica Simpson were out on the town Monday night in Los Angeles, and the two made an appearance at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip during a performance by the band Metal Skool.

Metal Skool, a popular rock comedy show in Los Angeles that frequently welcomes celebrities on stage with them, invited Romo and Simpson to come up and sing the Guns N' Roses song “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”

The New York Daily News and other media outlets reported Thursday that Romo had broken up with Simpson, but the two looked very happy arm-in-arm while belting out the lyrics together as the crowd cheered them on.

Simpson and Romo have been the focus of a lot of media attention after Simpson attended the Cowboys home game against Philadelphia in December, and Romo had one of the worst performances of his career in the Cowboys’ 10-6 loss.

Many fans and bloggers blamed Simpson for Romo’s poor performance, saying the pop star was a distraction to the star quarterback, criticism that was heightened after Romo flew to Mexico with Simpson before the team’s home playoff game against the Giants, which the Cowboys lost 21-17.

Other celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan, Michael Strahan, Mike Piazza, Joe Walsh and Kelly Clarkson have all gotten up on stage with Metal Skool in the past.

Both Romo and Simpson have separately attended Metal Skool shows in the past before they were an item and have been up on stage to sing.
