For years, the Red Sox have been the Jimmy Fund's greatest ally, and now, the youngest patients there are returning the favor with a heartfelt show of support.

NewsCenter 5's Jim Boyd reported that they got a little help from someone who also dared to dream -- former Sox star Mike Andrews.

The Red Sox have long been supporters of the Jimmy Fund, which helps provide treatment and services to children with cancer and their families.

At the clinic Tuesday, the kids were the ones who got together and made posters to show their support.

"I did 'Go Red Sox,' and I drew a huge baseball," Brag Priem said. "I hope they win the World Series."

Andrews, the chairman of the Jimmy Fund, helped the kids make the posters. He was part of the Red Sox World Series run in 1967.

"I remember when I started here 29 years ago. Unfortunately, we did not have a lot of young kids who were able to say thank you at that time. To see what has now happened and the cure rates the way they are going, and to know how much the Red Sox have had a part in making that happen, it's just very special to see this,"

"It's amazing how they treat you here. It's amazing what they do here. It really is," said Jack Strachan, one patient's father.
