But as the level of play rose, so did the stakes. On the line this weekend were berths into the Final Four.
The Florida Gators took another step closer to defending their national title with a victory over No. 3 Oregon in the Elite Eight. Florida, which is trying to become the first squad since the 1992 Duke team to win back-to-back titles, will play UCLA in the Final Four. The Bruins fell to Florida in last year's championship game.In Sunday's regional final, the Gators were led by Lee Humphrey (23 points) and Joakim Noah (13 points, 14 rebounds).
