(Sports Network) - Michael Vick passed for two touchdowns and rookie running back Jerious Norwood had 107 yards rushing with a score as the Atlanta Falcons defeated the Washington Redskins, 24-14, at FedEx Field.

Vick, who was 8-of-16 passing for 122 yards and also rushed for 59 yards, left the game for one play midway through the fourth quarter after appearing to tweak both of his hamstrings.

Norwood scored on a 69-yard touchdown run and Warrick Dunn added 87 yards on 21 carries as the Falcons (6-6) snapped a four-game losing streak and will travel to Tampa Bay to play the Buccaneers next Sunday.

Alge Crumpler grabbed two balls for 62 yards including and touchdown and Michael Jenkins pulled in four catches for 43 yards and a score.

Redskins rookie quarterback Jason Campbell, making only his third career start, was 18-of-38 passing for 217 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions as Washington (4-8) will host the Philadelphia Eagles next weekend.

Ladell Betts had a career-high 155 yards rushing on 28 carries and a touchdown and Santana Moss had seven catches for 123 yards and a score in the loss.

After the Falcons won the coin toss and elected to receive, the offense was unable to move the ball and was forced to punt.

The Redskins wasted little time getting their offense going. Starting on their own 31-yard line, Campbell orchestrated a nice opening drive. Following four straight runs by Betts, the rookie quarterback hit Brandon Lloyd for a 29-yard completion, advancing the ball to the Falcons 44. Four plays later, Betts ran over the left end for an eight-yard touchdown to cap a nine-play, 69-yard drive to give Washington an early 7-0 advantage.

Following a three-and-out by the Falcons, the Redskins quickly capitalized on the offensive end. Starting on its own 30, Washington stayed on the ground, handing off four consecutive times to Betts to move the ball to the Atlanta 42-yard line. Campbell then connected on a 42-yard touchdown pass to Moss to increase the Redskins lead to 14-0 late in the opening quarter.

"We started off the game doing some real good things," Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs said. "Game plan-wise, it was what we like to do. Somewhere in there, we quit making plays and then we made a couple of bad ones and they picked up momentum."

The Falcons, trying to answer with points of their own, appeared to have something going on their next series, advancing the ball inside Redskins territory for the first time of the contest. However, the Falcons elected to go for it on fourth-and-inches on the Washington 48, and Vick was stopped short on a quarterback sneak attempt.

Washington was unable to take advantage and were forced to punt. The Falcons, starting from their own 10-yard line, mounted an 11-play, 73-yard drive and capped it off with a 34-yard field goal by Morten Anderson, cutting the deficit to 14-3 midway through the second stanza.

The Redskins continued to move the ball well against the Falcons' defense on their next set. After a 35-yard kickoff return by Rock Cartwright that started the drive at the Washington 37, the Redskins moved the ball with ease, taking it down to the Atlanta 32. The drive came to an end when Shaun Suisham's 50- yard field goal attempt sailed wide left.

With the Falcons starting with good field position at the Washington 40-yard line, Vick went to work. The Atlanta signal-caller connected with Crumpler on a 46-yard hookup and three plays later found the big tight end in the left corner of the end zone for a 16-yard score to get the Falcons closer at 14-10 with 2:20 left in the second quarter.

Washington started the third frame by moving the ball rather easily against the Atlanta defense, advancing the ball down to the Falcons 21-yard line. However, Campbell dropped back and under heavy pressure tried getting rid of the football and threw it into the hands of Atlanta defensive end Chauncey Davis, who lumbered 41 yards to the Washington 25.

Two plays later, Vick connected with Jenkins in the middle of the end zone for a 22-yard touchdown pass, giving the Falcons their first lead of the game at 17-14.

"We were just able to get some things going offensively, more efficiently that wasn't there in the first half," Vick said about the Falcons' second half offense.

After both teams exchanged several punts, the Falcons got the ball back deep in their own end. Starting at the two-yard line, Vick led them out of trouble, connecting with Ashley Lelie on a eight-yard pass on a key 3rd-and-5 play to advance to ball to the 16. Two plays later Norwood scampered around right end for a 69-yard touchdown and increased the Falcons lead to 24-14 early in the fourth quarter.

The Redskins tried mounting an attempt to close the gap as they had a nice drive going, taking it down to the Falcons 16-yard line, but Campbell had his pass picked off on the goal line by Chris Crocker with just under three minutes remaining in the contest.

The Falcons kept it on the ground, forcing Washington to spend all of its time outs. The Redskins put heavy pressure on Atlanta punter Michael Koenen and Cartwright got free to block the kick. The Falcons moved the ball down to the Falcons two-yard line, but couldn't put it in.
