BOSTON -- A wrestling coach was arrested Monday, accused of possessing child pornography.
David Castricone, 60, a coach at North Andover High School, was arrested at his roofing business, the Eagle Tribune reported.
Police Chief Richard Stanley told the paper that his department received information last week that led to a search warrant being executed at his home Friday night. Stanley said evidence of child pornography was found, but he would not be more specific.
North Andover Schools Superintendent Christopher Hottel said Castricone resigned on Monday, but would not comment on the allegations.
"As with any police investigation, the School Department is, and will be, cooperating with local law enforcement. Given that the investigation is in progress, it would be inappropriate for the School Department to comment on the allegations or the police investigation," Hottel said in a statement.
Castricone had been a wrestling coach for 38 years, 25 of those years at North Andover.
