The first family will be enjoying the start of vacation on Martha's Vineyard on Thursday. But unlike last year's rock star welcome, islanders are mixed on the presidential visit.

It's the second year in a row that President Barack Obama has chosen the island as the place to re-charge his batteries.

NewsCenter 5's Kimberly Bookman reported that Obama is no longer a newcomer to the Martha's Vineyard streets, and perhaps that's why there's less fanfare.

"Second time around maybe not as exciting as the first time around," said Alvin Bowles of Michigan.

But he's also big business, even if the reasons he's bringing in money are different from summer 2009.

So far, the best selling T-shirt this year is not "I vacationed with Obama," rather it’s a shirt with a picture of former President George W. Bush on it.

"'How's that hopey, changey thing working out for ya?'" The Locker Room's Alex McCluskey read off one of the shirts. "Even Democrats are buying it."

One Stoughton man can't wait to wear his T-shirt with pictures of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Obama and Vice President Joe Biden dubbed "The Real Stooges."

"I just don't want a mosque built at Ground Zero. I can't deal with that," said Dan Pope.

Others on the island, however, are welcoming the first family with open arms.

The Laughing Bear clothing store made a special "hold tag" to put items aside for Michelle Obama, if she comes in to shop, and Sharky's cantina is shaking up "Obamaritas."

"I still think its pretty exciting that he's coming. We love Martha's Vineyard, and if he loves it too, he should come here, too. I'm happy that he's coming," Bowles said.
