BOSTON -- A personal concierge is becoming the new solution to the over-scheduled lifestyle.
NewsCenter 5's Anthony Everett reported Tuesday that Eddie and Chantal Boxer are running errands. They're measuring windows for new blinds, and trying to find those dry cleaning slips -- typical time-consuming chores of everyday life.
But the Boxers aren't doing their errands, they're doing someone else's. The married couple runs Fini Concierge, a personal service.
"We do everything from errands, home organization, travel planning, destination research, you name it we're doing it," Chantal Boxer said.
We all know about stress, and the rigors of managing our business and personal time. For $35 per house, Fini will do just about any task, with a few exceptions.
But they'll hook you up with those who will. Most of us can't afford this luxury, but if you can, it probably makes sense. A recent study found that 75 percent of employees take care of personal responsibilities while on the job.
After Chantal Boxer drops off a client's film at CVS, the Boxers check in on a renovation they are supervising.
The client wants a guardrail for his deck. Then it's off to home depot and Target. They're buying some odds and ends for a female client who they've helped movie into a new apartment.
Next stop, David Seibel's office, who said hiring a personal concierge is the best move he's made.
"I felt awkward in the beginning using outside people for things that most people think of as maintenance for life. But if you outsource them you can do things you haven't had time to do before. It's made my life and business more productive," he said.
"Our clients value time, don't have a lot of time, would rather not use free time to organize closets, want to be with friends and family," Chantal Boxer said.
