Senator Edward M. Kennedy represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate for 47 years, beginning in 1962.
He worked to pass legislation making quality health care accessible to all Americans and also worked on education and immigration reform laws, minimum wage issues, and legislation concerning civil rights and help for Americans with disabilities.
