Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton came to the Hub Monday hoping to deliver votes to her one-time rival Barack Obama.

NewsCenter 5's Janet Wu reported that Clinton asked 8,000 voting members of the National Association of Letter Carriers to transfer their primary endorsement of her to Obama.

"The best way to continue this fight is to elect Sen. Barack Obama as the next president of the United States of America," Clinton said.

It was not a hard sell in the Boston Convention Center, where outsourcing postal services, health care costs and the mortgage crisis were the top three issues.

"You have time and time again delivered for the American people. And nothing stood in your way. Not rain, not snow and not George W. Bush," Clinton said.

"She's my home girl. I'm from Arkansas. I like Hillary. I think she and Barack share some of the same ideals," said Herbert Buchanan, of Springdale, Ark.

NewsCenter 5 roamed the convention floor and looked far and wide and finally found a John McCain supporter.

"I'm in the minority here, I know. But I'm a true Republican. I'm voting for John McCain -- a true American patriot," said Robert Glass, of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Most of his colleagues disagree.

"McCain is a very good person. He's a veteran. I respect him, but he doesn't vote for labor-friendly people," said Alexander Moctezuma, of Phoenix, Ariz. "That is what it's all about."

Clinton's appearance had the same texture of her past events -- with one notable exception. She was comfortable talking about working in 10 presidential campaigns -- of which only three were won by a Democrat.

"And two of those times were someone I know very well and am very proud of," Clinton said.
