Canadiens Sign Cammalleri To Five-Year Deal

POSTED: 6:53 pm EDT July 1, 2009

(Sports Network) - The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Mike Cammalleri to a five-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, though multiple media outlets reported it is worth $30 million.

Cammalleri, 27, registered 39 goals and 43 assists in 81 games for Calgary last season. He ranked second on the Flames in points, and added three points in six playoff games, as Calgary lost to Chicago in the Western Conference quarterfinals.

A second-round selection in the 2001 draft by Los Angeles, Cammalleri spent his first five NHL seasons with the Kings. In 364 career games he has recorded 132 goals and 155 assists.
