Gail Huff has been a general assignment news reporter for WCVB-TV Channel 5 since August 1993. She currently works as NewsCenter 5's EyeOpener reporter.

Huff's broadcast journalism career began in Greenville, N.C., in 1984 where she anchored the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts at WNCT-TV. In 1986, she joined WLNE-TV in Providence, R.I., as a general assignment reporter. She assumed the same role at WFSB-TV in Hartford, Conn., in 1989. All three stations were CBS affiliates.

Huff has a diverse broadcast production and on-air background. She hosted a half-hour parenting series with child psychologist, Dr. Penelope Leach called "Your Baby & Child" on Lifetime Television.

A 1980 graduate of Waltham High School, Huff received her B.S. in Business Communications from Bentley College and attended Emerson College’s graduate program in Broadcast Journalism.

Huff donates considerable time to non-profit organizations including the March of Dimes, Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts, Kennedy Donovan Center and Horace Mann Educational Associates. She has been recognized with numerous awards for her work with area charities.

She is married to State Sen. Scott Brown and has two daughters, Ayla, a well-known singer since her participation on the popular television program "American Idol", and Arianna, an accomplished equestrian. They make their home in Wrentham.
