BOSTON -- If you've experienced the luxury of staying in a beautiful hotel, you might have fantasized about bringing that comfortable bed and accessories home.NewsCenter 5's Anthony Everett reported that now you can bring the luxury home -- for the right price. At Boston's chic boutique hotel, Nine Zero, everything but the floor is for sale -- the lobby's chairs, the chandelier and nearly everything in the rooms."The bed is for sale, the bed linens. We get a lot of questions about the headboards. The sink's for sale, although we ask that they don't pull it out during their stay," said Thomas Holtmann, of Nine Zero.Nine Zero is partnering with a new Boston company, Hotel Luxury At Home. Customers can log onto its Web site and click on the couch, desk or bathrobe they loved so much during their stay and it's on the way."What happens is people come to the hotel and love what they see. We want to help them take it home with them," said Catharine Arnston, of Hotel Luxury At Home.Customers can buy one item or the complete selection. But designing your own hotel at home comes at a cost. Each globe on the Nine Zero lobby chandelier sells for $2,500 and the leather chairs have a price tag of $3,500. The most popular items are bathrobes, pillows and beds."Six or seven years ago we introduced 'Heavenly Beds,' and guests were asking about it. From there it evolved into selling our beds," said Rachel Volante, of the Westin Copley Place Hotel.Starwood Hotels and Resorts, the company that owns the Westin Copley, made $10 million last year on the sale of Heavenly Beds through Nordstrom's department store. The most popular items are more affordable."The shower head -- (customers are) always asking about our dual shower heads," said Volante."Hotel as lifestyle" is what those in the business are calling it."We think hotels are the new celebrity brand. Ten years ago, it was chefs like Wolfgang Puck. We think this is the next stage, the next brand of celebrity items," said Arnston.LuxuryAtHome.com WestinCopleyPlace.com
