Homeland Security Officer Charged With Drunken Driving
Immigration Official Allegedly Led Police On High-Speed Chase

BOSTON -- A Department of Homeland Security immigration officer was charged with drunken driving in Weymouth early Sunday morning.Police said Omar Hernandez, 32, led police on a chase that reached speeds of 100 mph, according to the Patriot Ledger.Hernandez was accused of driving past a police officer on Main Street at about 3:30 a.m. The officer followed Hernandez, but he allegedly sped off, the newspaper reported. Police said Hernandez refused to obey orders when the car came to a stop.In addition to the drunken driving charge, Hernandez was also charged with resisting arrest, driving to endanger, failing to stop for a police officer, failing to stop for a red light and speeding.
