If you're looking for your big break in pictures, Hollywood filmmakers are looking for extras to share the Silver Screen with A-List actors Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale next week when they will be shooting a boxing scene in Lowell.

"The Fighter," a film about Lowell-born boxer Micky Ward and his rise to fame, will be shooting a boxing scene July 14, 15 and 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at an undisclosed location.

"The actual stars are going to be there, and this is an actual scene in the movie," said Mary McNally, spokeswoman for BeInAMovie.com, a company that recruits extras to participate in movies.

No auditions are required, but spots are available online on a first come, first served basis, McNally said, and the only catch is that the work is unpaid.

Producers will need 250 extras for each of the first two days and 500 extras for the last day, she said.

"Given how enthusiastic Boston-area fans are for sports and just their energy, I think they're going to make a great crowd for this film," she said.

There's no charge to sign up as an extra and although there won't be any paycheck, there will be free food and parking as well as raffle prizes, according to the Web site. Since shooting will be indoors, it is not weather-dependant.
