BOSTON -- A Massachusetts State Police trooper was placed on restricted duty last week after his 12-year-old son pointed the man's unloaded gun at a 5-year-old neighbor and pulled the trigger, according to the Cape Cod Times.State Police Lt. Richard R. Bolduc's son brought the gun to his neighbor's Sandwich house on June 25. Police said that the boy carried the gun in his belt and pulled it out and after a dispute over whether the weapon was real, the newspaper reported.Police went to the boy's home to question him, and he led officers to an unlocked bureau, where the gun and a loaded magazine were stored.Bolduc, 48, faces a possible charge of improper storage of a large capacity firearm near a minor, the newspaper reported. He was also denied access to a state police vehicle and his service weapon and has been reassigned to another barracks.The boy was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a large capacity firearm.
