Woman Speaks Out About Daughter's DeathFour Killed At Maine Bed And BreakfastPOSTED: 6:16 pm EDT September 8,
2006 BOSTON -- Dorothy Cabral raised her daughter, Cindy, in Sudbury. During the Labor Day weekend, she lost her in a killing in Maine.NewsCenter 5's David Boeri reported Friday that Cabral spoke about the crime for the first time.Cabral lashed out at the man at the center of the case, Christian Nielsen, who is charged with killing four people at a bed and breakfast in Newry, Maine."The only thing I come up with is that their killer was not insane, but demonic," Cabral said.Cabral was planning on moving to Maine to be close to her daughter and granddaughter. On Saturday, she is going there to await the release of her daughter's remains and to console her granddaughter and son-in-law."He is a wonderful person. Of course, he is beside himself, and so is the daughter. She loved it there," Cabral said.Cindy Beatson fell in love with Bethel, Maine, where she worked as a waitress and a real estate agent."(She was) a workaholic. So is her husband. She used to take the baby, the little girl when she was a baby, she used to take her in one of those arm carriers and take her to work with her," Cabral said.By all accounts, Beatson had many friends, and when Selby Bullard couldn't reach her mother at the Black Bear Bed and Breakfast, Beatson went with her to find out what was wrong."Fortunately, they said to the girls, 'You wait here. We will be right back. If they went with them, they would have been mowed down, as well. My son-in-law wouldn't be able to take the loss of both his wife and child," Cabral said.Police said that two people had already been murdered by Nielsen when he allegedly killed Beatson and Bullard."He was having a good time by the last two killings. The first two were vengeful, but the two girls that came in the door, he had nothing against them. They might be a witness," Cabral said. Copyright 2006 by TheBostonChannel.com. All rights reserved.
