BOSTON -- Boston drivers in the area of the Tobin Bridge can expect some delays as crews finish a resurfacing project on the upper deck of the bridge.

The bridge's upper deck resurfacing work will continue throughout the weekend of Aug. 26 and 27 and will continue into next week. Massport said drivers should expect detours and lane closures. The work was scheduled for the end of August when traffic on the Tobin Bridge tends to be lighter.

The Tobin Bridge Deck Rehab Project was scheduled to take place over an eight-week period in July, but due to the unexpected tunnel closures and re-routing of traffic in and out of Boston, the work was postponed until August, Massport said.

The project should be complete by Labor Day weekend.
